Fredrik Olausson | Winnipeg JetsOctober 5, 1966 – Former Winnipeg Jets Defenseman, Fredrik Olausson was born in Vaxsjo, Sweden.

Olausson was drafted by the Jets in the fourth round (81st overall) of the 1985 NHL entry draft.  Olausson played with the Jets from 1986-1993 before being traded to Edmonton with Winnipeg’s 7th round choice (Curtis Sheptak) in 1994 Entry Draft for Edmonton’s 3rd round choice (Tavis Hansen) in 1994 Entry Draft on December 6, 1993.

October 5, 1981 – The Winnipeg Jets claimed Serge Savard from the Montreal Canadiens in the annual NHL waiver draft.

October 5, 1983 – The Winnipeg Jets and the Detroit Red Wings played to a 6-6 tie at the Winnipeg Arena. Red Wings’ Rookie, Steve Yzerman scored his first NHL goal in that game.

October 5, 2011 – Jets 1st overall draft pick, Mark Scheifele, chooses jersey number 55.

October 5, 2012 – Locked Out.
