Stu Barnes | Winnipeg JetsDecember 25, 1970 – Former Winnipeg Jets Centerman, Stu Barnes, was born in Spruce Grove, Alberta.

Stu Barnes was selected in the 1st Round, 4th Overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1989 draft. A prolific scorer in the Western Hockey League, including two 140+ point campaigns with the Tri-City Americans, Barnes was being counted on by the Jets to provide some scoring punch.

Barnes never did turn out to be the prolific scorer that the Jets thought they had drafted and was traded on November 25, 1993 to the Florida Panthers with a 6th Round draft pick for Randy Gilhen.
