Now December was a time to be a Jets fan. The team was winning and looked like they were ready for the Stanley Cup parade. Times were good but then it had to happen. The calendar had to change to a new month and all hell broke loose. The flu and injuries ravaged the team. The once high flying Jets have been grounded and their playoff hopes are starting to slip away. Dark times, dark times indeed. Scary moment for Wheeler. Noel won’t kick them when they’re down. A January slide and 3rd period woes for the Jets. These and other stories in today’s links.

It seems that that the Jets are stuck in quicksand and need to find a way to get themselves out of it. Despite what some local media says, this team does have the talent. They just need to get tougher mentally. [Winnipeg Free Press]

Scary moment when Wheeler took one in the net. Thankfully all tests came back negative but his status is uncertain. Losing him for any stretch of time could be devastating to this team and its playoff chances. [Winnipeg Free Press]
