That was one heck of a game last night. The outcome wasn’t perfect but it was fun to watch. If anyone thinks this teams lacks talent then they need their heads examined. They dominated the Panthers for most of the game only to lose in an extended shootout. Turn overs kill Jets. Lawless defends Kane. Kane out with a concussion and Big Buff is probably going to miss the all-star game. These and other stories in today’s links.

A great game by the Jets but they just fell short. They ran into a hot goalie and lost in a shoot out even though they dominated their opponent for most of the game. [Winnipeg Free Press]

Despite playing well the Jets fall short in a 14 player shootout. [TSN]

Lawless tries to defend Kane but ends up being a dick about it. He didn’t have to make it about himself and he didn’t have to take a not so subtle shot at Kane. When you say that he needs to grow up in the 2nd graph that just poisons the reader. He says in the 2nd to last graph “They shouldn’t be lied about and they shouldn’t have to face irresponsible attacks on their character.” Yet earlier he says that he’s immature and cocky. I get what Lawless was trying to to do but his columns are not where he needs to settle scores. [Winnipeg Free Press]

Looks like the big guy is going to have to miss the all-star game. Who should replace him? My vote is for Mark Stuart. [Winnipeg Sun]

I really think sometimes we are too hard on this team. Yeah they have faults but they are young and competitive in most games. [Winnipeg Sun]
