If you haven’t done it already you should be following me on Twitter @hockeynightdoc. I am usually on during games and willing to talk about the Jets and other issues. Last night I took a little flack for suggesting that Thorburn isn’t very good. Turns out he’s got a lot of passionate fans out there who like to question your loyalty if you dare disagree with them. Twitter is fun. The Freep defends Thorburn. Lack of a scorer hurts the Jets. The Rangers were the better team and the All-Star break comes at a great time for the Jets.

Could someone please explain the media’s love affair with Chris Thorburn? He’s got 4pts, is -10 and has hands of stone. I’m sure he’s a super nice guy but he’s not an NHL caliber player. Anyway heres the Free Press schilling for him. [Winnipeg Free Press]

Well my feelings about Lawless are well known. I sort of agree with him on this. The Jets lack an offensive scoring machine. I don’t think its lack of talent that Lawless contends but rather due to injuries. This isn’t a team where there is one player who can carry them. They need all their pieces working together and we haven’t had that in  over a month. [Winnipeg Free Press]

The Rangers were the better team last night as the shut out the Jets. [Winnipeg Sun]

I think the all-star break will be good for this team. They can heal up and then come back ready to make one last push for the playoffs. [Winnipeg Sun]

Noel not happy with this team falling back to a .500 record. [TSN]

Not good. Not good at all. Kane ends up on the injured reserve list. [Vancouver Sun]

If they want to make the playoffs then the Jets need to find a way to score more goals. [Toronto Sun]
