To be honest I kind of expected this. No team plays well in back to back games. Good new for the Jets is their next opponent the Sabres play tonight before facing the Jets on Saturday. Claude Noel has got one day to get his team going before they slip too far in the standings. Mason is pissed about the penalty shot. The Leafs threw a tantrum about a puck. Jets need to get out of this funk and Winnipeg finds it hard to win away from home. These and other stories in today’s links.

Mason is pissed about the penalty shot goal. I thought that move was awesome yet a little classless. You are up big no need to rub it in. Plus he also made contact with the goalie before the puck went in the net. Should have been waved off for that. [Winnipeg Sun]

At the end of the game Randy Jones picked up the puck and tossed it to a fan in the crowd and apparently that upset the Leafs. Only the Buds would find something to whine about after a 4-0 shutout win. [Winnipeg Free Press]

For the second game in a row the Jets got spanked. They need to figure it out quick or their playoff hopes are going to fade faster then ice cream at Brian Burke’s desert table. [Winnipeg Free Press]

I will not make excuses for pro hockey players but it should be noted they did play back to back which usually spells doom in the NHL. [Winnipeg Sun]

There’s no place like home. That phrase rings true for the Jets. [The Hockey Writers]
