Dustin Byfuglien Winnipeg JetsWhile the Jets are getting ready for a Thursday night tilt with the New York Islanders, let’s look at a few notes of interest through the first 11 games of the season.

Kyle Wellwood, a summertime Free Agent addition to the Jets roster is leading the team in the goal scoring department with 5 over 11 games.  Wellwood has always been known for his good hands, but has often found himself in a third line role with the previous teams he has played for. With the Jets he is playing first line minutes – not sure whether that is good or bad?

Dustin Byfuglien ranks last on the Jets with a minus 5 rating, but  leads the team in penalty minutes with 14.  Not the combination of statistics that Jets fans were hoping for.

In goal, starter Ondrej Pavelec has a not-so-robust GAA of 3.63, which slots him in at 54th in the NHL. He is, however, 51st in the league in terms of Save% at .885.
