To all my readers and fans south of the Border Happy Turkey Day. As a Canadian living in the states I get the pleasure of having two thanksgivings and I am extremely thankful for that, mmmmm Turkey! I am also thankful that the Jets were able to come out of Washington with a point after playing a fairly sluggish lackluster game. The Jets fall to the Caps. Hainsey comes back and logs major minutes. Burmistrov sees playing time drop and Gary Doer goes to the game. These and other stories in today’s links.
Jets drop to the Caps in OT. [YAHOO]
The Jets had a chance to put this game away when they had a 2 man advantage yet failed to put the biscuit in the basket. [TSN]
Hainsey plays a lot after coming back from injury. He looked pretty good out there. [Winnipeg Sun]
Washington finally solves Pavelec. Though to be honest he was kinda weak on that second goal. I’m sure if you asked him he’d say he would like to have that one back. [Globe & Mail]
Ambassador Doer carries a torch for the Jets and Bombers. [Winnipeg Free Press]
Here’s the Sun’s same story. [Winnipeg Sun]
Funny Gary Doer story. Years before he was Premier (he was NDP leader at the time) the ambassador was golfing at Transcona. I was there with a media buddy who knew the him. Anyway we talked for a few minutes and we let them pass us and go ahead. My unnamed media buddy thinks its safe to shoot and hits one off the cart path. The ball takes a weird bounce and nails the future Premier in the back, a little higher and history changes.
Burmistrov see ice time reduced. [Winnipeg Free Press]
