Craig HeisingerDo you have goosebumps? I did after I watched this clip from the concert the other night. The 5:55 mark will make you cry tears of pure joy. David Thomson speaks, can fans will a team to win? Zingers amazing journey, plus a bonus non Jets link. All this and way more in a ‘Day Before’ edition of your Jets links.

In just over 24 hours Winnipeg gets to step into the spotlight. [Winnipeg Free Press]

When David Thomson speaks I hear poetry. The True North principal talks about what bringing the Jets means to him, the city and the country. Really good read. [Winnipeg Free Press]

Can fan support translate into wins? [NHL]

Maybe I’m tired, or dumb, but this headline makes no sense. Good story though. [National Post]

Pavelec hopes to have a better season opener then he did last season. He passed out and sustained a concussion in a very scary incident that almost ended his career. [Globe & Mail]

Claude Noel was in my opinion the best move the Jets made last season. He’s got the right attitude and demeanor for a NHL coach. [Winnipeg Sun]

There are very few people outside of Manitoba who think that the Jets have a shot at the playoffs this season and that OK with the team. They are going to happily play the role of underdog. [Vancouver Sun]

Zinger’s story is amazing. He went from equipment manager of the Jets 1.0 to Assistant GM of Jets 2.0. [CBC]

10 Jets to watch. [Globe & Mail]

Winnipeg Police go undercover to grab scalpers. Ok, I understand this is a problem, but seriously the city has some major crime issues. I’m not sure this is the best use of resources. [TSN]

Well I lost a bet. I was 100% sure it was going to be Neil Young singing the anthem. [Winnipeg Free Press]

Ok, now one non-Jets link.

If you want to watch something to take your mind off of hockey for a few hours then I would suggest tuning into ABC at 11am for the Texas/OU Red River Rivalry. This is college football at its best. They play the game in Dallas the halfway point between the two schools. Half the Cotton Bowl is wearing Burnt Orange the other half Crimson and its spilt at the 50 yard line. Oh yeah they have fried Coca Cola and almost any other food you can fry. [ESPN]
