Winnipeg Jets 22-20-6, 50 pts
Carolina Hurricanes 17-24-9, 43 pts

The game on Saturday against the Panthers was disappointing but there are a few positives that you can take away. Firstly they didn’t giv up. They got down a couple times and managed to fight back and at least get a point. Secondly they dominated the whole game. They just ran into a hot goalie which happens every now and then. So for two games in a row the Jets were the better team. Yeah they had a few bad turn overs but in reality they played pretty good and hopefully they can carry some momentum on the road.
MASON’S THE MAN
Chris Mason has owned the Canes and should get the start tonight. I personally want to see him play so I can see those wonderful new pads at work. Mason has been pretty good in his clearly defined role as a backup. He has played well when called upon and due to his past success he should get the nod tonight. Mason is in the Cane’s heads and this needs to be taken advantage of. There really isn’t much of a drop off when the Jets switch goalies which is a pretty awesome thing in today’s NHL.
KEEP AT IT
The past two game the Jets have played pretty well. They seem to have a little more offensive punch. Having Blake Wheeler in the lineup certainly helps. I’ll be honest I wasn’t the biggest Wheeler fan but the guy has been growing on me. He along with Antropov have been really dominate down low lately. If you can win the battles down low you will win the game. The Jets have a lot of size up front and when the fore check is able to get sustained pressure this team is pretty hard to beat. What the Jets need is for all the pieces to click at the same time. It seems that when one guy gets hot another falls into a slump. Claude Noel needs to find a way to get all of his guys on the same page.
The Jets are getting it from all angles. The local press is starting to turn on the boys and then there is this whole Evander Kane mess. This is a pivotal moment for this team. They could either come together or fall apart and it to be honest I’m not sure which way the chips may fall. They need to take a us against the world attitude. They need to rally and come together to face the struggles that they are grappling with. To succeed the Jets have to put everything else aside, tune out the media, even the fans and focus on winning as a team. Its easy when things get through to want to just hide and go it alone. Yet these young men need to band together, they need to get closer and power themselves to the playoffs.
Go Jets Go!
