Winnipeg Jets 3-6-1 7pts
Florida Panthers 6-4-0 12pts

So if you bring your kid to the game tonight in a costume they get in for free. Wow.
Anyway the Jets look to rebound after a tough loss to the Bolts on Saturday. The Jets played really good but as has been the storyline all season one unlucky play derails the good guys. The Jets probably played their first complete game of the season but ran into a hot goalie and sometimes thats all it takes to cost you the game.
FIND THE SCORING TOUCH AGAIN
So one night you score 9 the next you lay a big fat goose egg. So is the ways of the NHL. The Jets need to just keep doing what they have been doing and keep getting pucks towards the net. Roloson had a huge game the other night and even though the Jets had their chances they could not solve the riddle that was the Bolt’s Goalie. Against the Panthers tonight the Jets just need to not worry what the other goalie is doing, just get bodies in front of the net and capitalize when chances are made available to them. After you get blanked you have a tendency to press and take too many shortcuts. The Jets cannot fall into that trap and just need to play a patient game. The Jets goal scorers are starting to get it going they just need to relax and the pucks will go in. I promise.
PAVELEC NEEDS TO DO WHAT HE DOES AGAINST THE PANTHERS
The Jets number one goalie has owned the Panthers in his short NHL career. Some goalies play well against some teams and Pavelec certainly has against the Panthers. The Jets will need him to be serviceable tonight and just not give up any weak goals early on. Pavelec also needs to manage his rebounds a little better. He seems to have a tendency to try and play the puck rather than hold onto it for a whistle. This could be due to coaching or the fact he knows that the Jets faceoffs have been horrible so far this season. Either way he just needs to do a better job of holding onto the puck. The Jets give up too many turnovers to begin with.
Former Thrashers coach Craig Ramsay faces his old team tonight and surely knows every weakness of the Jets. He pretty much built this team and certainly knows where the pressure points are. The Jets need to come out and play a completely different game. Yes Coach Noel has a different system but Big Buff is still going to try and rush every chance he can get and Evander Kane is go to carry the puck into the corner. Noel needs to throw in a few wrinkles so that the Panthers don’t know exactly what the Jets are going to do. I am sure Ramsay is still a little bitter in how things went and will be looking to embarrass his former team. The fact Ramsay knows the play book could be used in the Jets favor. Remember that episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation when Picard gets captured by the Borg? One of the crew says that Picard knew their plans and Riker replied “I’m counting on it”. If the Panthers are expecting the Jets to Play one way showing them something totally different could be what it takes to pull out a win.
