Update: The New Winnipeg Jets jersey has been released!
Update: The new Winnipeg Jets Logo has been released.
The Winnipeg Jets new jersey is almost ready according to the Jets Director of Corporate Communications, Scott Brown. Brown informed the Winnipeg Free Press that they are just ‘tweaking’ the final colors.
“We’re working through the final logo and jersey work”
“That doesn’t mean it’ll be announced any time soon. We just want to let the public know that contributions to any type of contest aren’t going to be considered because we’re long past that stage. To take in a new concept or logo now would mean the jerseys would not be ready for the beginning of the season.
“We’re far down that road in the process of making final detailed tweakings to the logo and the jerseys.”
This is great news for Winnipeg Jets fans that have balked at purchasing the Vintage Winnipeg Jets jerseys in favor of waiting for the new jersey to arrive.
More importantly, however, is the fact that the league and other teams are chomping at the bit to have the new Winnipeg Jets Logo in order to complete their print and digital marketing pieces for the upcoming season. For instance, there are tickets, schedules and various other print materials that teams must produce using the new Jets logo for the 2011-12 NHL season.
For the aforementioned reasons, the Jets are planning to release the new logo prior to the jersey. If you are looking for a timeline for the release of the new jets jersey, Jets rookies will be wearing the new duds when they partake in the Vancouver Canucks’ Young Stars Tournament in Penticton, B.C., from Sept. 11-15.
One might make an educated guess that we will see the new jersey released a week or two before the Young Stars Tournament. Of course, a leaked version will most likely surface prior to that.
Will you be buying a new Winnipeg Jets jersey when they are released?
