My suggestions is Manitoba Buffaloes or Bisons
This animal is the symbol of the prairies. It is also and animal that you not intimated easely. Buffaloes are also working in group for defense

  7. Mike Anthony says:

HAS to be the Jets..Hockey watered itself down with too many expansion teams and got away from tradition…What the hell is a Minnesota Wild anyway??…Do this city right and give them back the JETS…

  8. Kirk Nicholson says:

Winnipeg Jets would be the right choice. However, that appears it will cost a lot of money to make it happen.
If not, I suggest the next best thing. A rebirth……the Winnipeg Learjets!

  9. WildSoccergal8 says:

It should to stick with the name “Winnipeg Jets” for new team because there is a lot of history about Winnipeg Jets. A lot of people who is fan of “Winnipeg Jets” and they know who is “Winnipeg Jets”. The history is very value to us and it is meaning a lot to us. Please keep the name “Winnipeg Jets” for us , former Winnipeg Jets nhler. I think former Winnipeg Jets wants to keep the name “Winnipeg Jets” because there are ton of memories about Winnipeg Jets. Check it out with petitions. Let’s pray to hear about if they decide to keep the name “Winnipeg Jets”. Let say, “Go Jets! Go Jets! Go Jets!”

  10. Dean Gatin says:

Pay homage to the Winnipeg NHL team we all know and love. Bring back the Jets name and stamp it on Lord Stanley where it belongs. Fairy tale complete!!!
Hope you’re long on merchandise to keep with demand with or without the cup. Makes a great gift..

  11. Rob Deyman says:

I am a former WHA and NHL Jets Season ticket holder until I moved out of province. I took untold abuse from Leafs fans when I proudly wore my Jets jersey. Nonetheless I faithfully followed the Jets until they were unceremoniously ripped out of the living hearts of Winnipegers. I haven’t seen an NHL game on TV or live since and have turned to baseball and the Jays for my fan fix. If the Winnpieg team ownership honors and respects its history and the glory days of the AVCO Cup Jets, I will again follow the team. If the Winnipeg Jets name is dropped in favour of just another corporate sports franchise branding exercise I will continue to focus on the Jays and close the books on the NHL forever. Congratulations to Winnipeg and the new ownership for bringing hockey back to Winnipeg. That is really good for the City and Canada. I wish the team much success whatever the name but I just can’t get fired up unless there is a touchstone to something that was once meaningful to me. Is this a logical position…No…it is a deeply emotional one but that is why it is so powerful. I hope the new ownership considers this and merge their head and heart when making their choice for the Winnipeg Jets.

  12. Dale Kornelsen says:

I grew up knowing the Jets. I was there when they won the Avco Cup in their final year. I saw the nhl take away most of that team when we joined the nhl. I saw the nhl try to take the Jets away in 1996. I believe we deserve to have the Jets name returned to winnipeg where it belongs.

  13. Mike Jarrett says:

Please call this team the Winnipeg Jets, it is what most people want and it identifies Winnipeg pro hockey tradition.

  14. Chad Sheppard says:

Would you change the look of the Stanley Cup just because you could? The name has to be the Jets. The Moose name if perfect for a Newfoundland hockey team. Let’s bring back the Jets to Winnipeg…not another name.

  15. bill abbott says:

The “Winnipeg Jets” all the way. After 15 years, and a move out of the province, I still buy “Jets” merchandise. And I don’t intend to ever buy any Manitoba Moose merchandise. Is there any other name that would interest me? Yes, Winnipeg Falcons or Winnipeg Monarchs because these two names have Manitoba hockey history. Bill

  16. darren says:

IF IT IS NOT THE JETS, I WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST THE

    WINNIPEG RIFLES.

1)THE NAME HAS HISTORY TO THE MILITARY IN WINNIPEG.

2)A RIFLE IS A POWERFUL FORCE TO BE RECOND WITH.

    3) LOGO COULD BE CREATIVELY CHANGED SEVERAL DIFFERENT WAYS

DROP THE IDEA OF THE MOOSE. TERRIBLE NAME AND ROTTEN COLORS. BESIDES THE NEIGHBORING WILD HAVE THE SAME COLOR.

COULD BE ACCEPT ANOTHE PURPLE TEAM? I THINK IT WOULD BE COOL!
KINDA LIKE THE OLD WHA CLEVELAND BARONS COLORS.

  17. Joe Stang says:

I am an Oilers fan, and it wouldnt be right if one of our biggest rivals from both WHA and NHL werent called the Jets. Winnipeg Jets all the way — over 10,000 signatures on the petiton and rising in less than a week says it all. Change can be refreshing, but tradition in hockey in Canada is huge, and in this case changing the name from Jets would be a huge mistake.

  18. Val says:

here is an idea for settling the name dispute…

They left as the Winnipeg Jets… and came back as the “Fighter Jets”

this way they keep part of their original name, but also get a cool name that can attract a lot of the younger crowd and great for marketing purposes… and I can think of a cool “fighter jet” logo that could scare a lot of the competition out of our city!

  19. David McLeod says:

Absolutely no choice but the Winnipeg Jets, that name alone conjures up the history of pro hockey in Winnipeg and it would be a travesty to name the new club anything else.
    Thank you for your time.

  20. Charles Warwaruk says:

I am for sticking with “Winnipeg Jets”. It just seems very appropriate.

  21. randy koroscil says:
