The jets are okay hope they don’t leave again, Ha Ha

    I would certainly hope so.
But, Islanders owner Charles Wang has publicly stated that he wishes he had never bought the team. Pretty sad for the franchise when ownership isn’t interested.

  3. Wish I Was Canadian says:

I just checked. The Islanders average just over 10,000 fans a game. Winnipeg could beat that! Couldn’t they?

    Thanks for the comment!
It’s amazing how times change. With Winnipeg now having the brand new (albeit potentially small by NHL standards) MTS Centre and Quebec lobbying for a new facility, could we see the return of the NHL to these cities? I hope so.

  5. The Jets suffered the same fate in the mid 90’s as the Whalers and the Nordiques – NHL Management interested in expanding into new markets and the lack of a state-of-the-art stadium that could generate millions in revenue.

  6. Tyler says:

The Jets had pretty stable attendance. Certainly more people attended in that old crappy Winnipeg arena than the Phoenix Coyotes and New york Islanders get.
